05D1001 - Carver's Power Sharpening Set
With a 6" × 3/4" fine (120x) cool grinding wheel, a 6" × 3/4" medium felt wheel, and a 6 oz bar of Veritas Honing Compound, this set includes all the grinding accessories a carver needs for power sharpening.
The grinding wheel is aluminum oxide with a soft bond (grade H) and an open structure. It will wear faster than a hard stone but will not burn tools as readily. Comes with four bushings (for 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and 7/8" shafts). Maximum 3820 rpm.
The felt wheel is bored for 5/8" diameter arbors, but a 1/2" bushing is provided. Maximum 3600 rpm.
When the felt wheel is dressed with our blade honing compound, the edge obtained is noticeably sharper than most razor blades — we have the electron microscope photographs to prove it.
