This is a good drill guide – sturdy and reliable. In our tests, it produced accurate, repeatable holes at 90°, 75°, 60° and 45° angles.
The steel guide rods permit 6" of travel, with a spring mechanism to help maintain smooth, controlled operation. It has an integral depth stop, a notched base that lets you center the bit over round stock up to 3 1/2" in diameter, and a handle to keep the guide securely registered on the work.
Changing angle settings involves unscrewing the guide rods and re-engaging detents at the new position.
For use with power drills that have 3/8" chucks or larger, it accepts bits with up to a 3/8" shank. It won't replace a drill press, but provides convenience and excellent value for job-site or workshop use.
