Best of all, the four spring tips in the base automatically tension the sandpaper as you tighten the brass thumbscrew down. Tear a standard 9" × 11" sanding sheet into six equal rectangles, wrap the 3" wide ends around the base plate, then replace the wood block and tighten the clamping knob so the spring tips pull the paper tight.
